tower property lease

I purchased a property with an existing cell tower lease. In order to be able to purchase all of the property, I had agreed to allow the seller to keep the payments only for the filed lease and any extensions of the existing lease. The tower was purchased by another tower company and the party receiving the payments are wanting to admend the current lease, the lease will expire in a few years, the tower company has the option to extend and negotiate. At that time, not sure how that will work, I may require them to make changes. My deed states that the previous owner is to receive only the payments from the lease. Can the lease be admended without my consent (the property owner)?

I don't know the answer to this. Your deed probably didn't address situations they weren't familiar with. This is one of them. First have someone familiar with the cell tower leases read your lease. Your lawyer probably isn't familiar with how these type leases work. Use and expert. You won't regret it.
